Travel Experience to Mount Bromo and Mount Ijen

Mount Bromo and Mount Ijen can be visited separately or together as a 3-4 day trip starting from Malang and ending in Ketapang from where you can take a ferry to Bali.
Because most of the tourists we serve for this trip prefer to relax on Bali Beach at the end of the trip.

Starting from Malang City or Surabaya City, you travel to Bromo Village where you check in to a local guest house and are free to settle in or take a walk exploring the village.

After a late night and early morning, you wake up long before sunrise and prepare to head to the sunset point to see a stunning sunset on Mount Bromo from Sunset Hill.

You have the option of taking an SUV or walking to the top of Sunset Hill. If you take a jeep, you will cross a sandy plain and then go to a guardhouse. If you walk, you need a moderate level of fitness as walking is not for the faint of heart.

Whichever option you choose, once you reach the top you'll be greeted with a magical view of the sun hitting the volcano at first light.

After sunset, you can walk or drive and cross the sandy plains to walk to Bromo Crater. Once here you either have two options by continuing on foot or you can be persuaded to ride one of the local horses which is a very tempting proposition after a morning of sore feet. After spending time at the crater, you return to town for lunch before traveling east to Ijen.

Walk on Mount Ijen (Blue Fire)

Once you reach Ijen, you will stay at a local guest house at the foot of the mountain before getting up again and climbing the mountain before sunrise. The hike itself is self guided as there is only one route to follow which is very safe and suitable for everyone.

The walk itself is 4 kilometers long and takes about two hours to complete. The trail is gradual but totally doable for people of all fitness levels. (It's not a race and you can do it as long as you want) But saying that the reason you're up early is to get to the crater before sunrise so you can see what's called the Blue Fire. Blue flames that appear due to the burning of sulfur gas.

Once you reach the top you will have time to relax, take in the stunning site before heading back down for a much needed breakfast and coffee before moving on to your next destination.
